Hives after cycling?

Hi,

No - this is nothing to do with listening to a Swedish punk/indie band :D

After riding both Saturday and Sunday this weekend (each ride approx 24k in around 55mins) I noticed a red rash on the tops of my feet, sides of my thighs and on my hands/fingers. I thought this was maybe due to a change in washing powder (socks) or a new jersey (Garneau), or maybe something I'd eaten. But now I think it might be this...

The rash isn't widespread, and isn't overly dense - but itchy as f@#k :D LOL!

Anybody else experienced similar?

Thanks,

Mike

I rarely get this when riding in the summer, I come back in and have a mild red rash [which isn't itchy] which goes after a few hours. I always attribute it to pollen in the air [I have mild hayfever]...?

I also suffer from hayfever - tree pollen rather than flowers/grasses. Perhaps there's an element that can be attributed to this - due to the leaves falling early this year?

Did a ride this evening (20k) and no additional rash. Reckon it must've been something I ate (or the washing powder) :)
