Joe, the bike is pretty well covered not something I'm concerned with, until it rusts and falls apart!

I would suggest using something like GoldenCheetah(free) or TrainingPeaks(not free) to enable you to track your fitness(CTL) and fatigue level(ATL). That way you can decide if you have scope to increase the workouts or need to decrease workouts.
Not that you need to use them but they sort of take the guessing out of if your doing too much or too little.0 -

Funny you mention that I'm just about to buy 6 months worth of Training Peaks!Trainer Road Blog: https://hitthesweetspot.home.blog/

Hi, I've read the discussion in this thread and others with interest - I got this book as a Christmas present, and am considering doing the "New Century" plan (in preparation for the 3 Pistes in May).
Just wondering if you, or anyone else reading, has any tips on doing the TCTP with some of the workouts replaced with Sufferfest videos? And if so, any particular ones to use?
I have Strava Premium so have 3 already available (Hunted, Blender and Long Scream), but was considering buying some more because I actually quite enjoy them(!). On the face of it, Sufferfest is quite focussed on the high intensity intervals so they should be reasonably compatible (and the TCTP does say it is possible to substitute videos in).0 -

Hi, fwiw I do like the sufferfest videos as well but in my opinion the interval sessions on the TCTP are so focused that you don't really need them. But from what I read, if your plan calls for lots of 1 minute intervals, or sessions that replicate similar efforts then I'd imagine you can just do a sufferfest video for that session. For me personally I have enjoyed the plan that I've done. I've just done a little leg loosener today, hoping to do the initial test again tomorrow.Trainer Road Blog: https://hitthesweetspot.home.blog/

Looking forward to seeing how the test goes supermurph. What are you going to do training wise now the plan is finished?0 -
Didn't manage to do the test today but training wise I will be starting a new plan devised by one of our club coaches. He's coaching a local race team and also quite a few of our club guys who focus on TT's. I've just got my instructions for his initial test so aiming to do that tomorrow morning and will then repeat the initial TCTP test in the next few days.Trainer Road Blog: https://hitthesweetspot.home.blog/

Sounds good, do you have any goals in particular for next year?0 -
The focus for me will be 10 mile TTs from March to July but with some hilly stuff thrown in. I'll then be targeting Hill Climbs towards the end of the year.
I've just got a TT bike so first objective is to break into the 23s which I'm confident of doing pretty quickly and then seeing how quick I can go on my local courses. I'll also be doing some 2up and 3up TTs as well.Trainer Road Blog: https://hitthesweetspot.home.blog/

Excellent write up, and pretty much mirrored my own results, and motivational boosts - it's a great training aid if it works for you, and clearly for us it does
I will be embarking on a new TCTP in the coming weeks, just trying to get my base fitness up a bit after an illness filled Christmas........Felt F70 05 (Turbo)
Marin Palisades Trail 91 and 06

Cannondale Synapse Adventure 15 & 16 Di2
