I've just discovered there's a Wattbike centre around the corner from my office that runs classes (I guess a bit like Spinning). Anybody tried this? I fancy doing something a bit different.

You mean in Amsterdam? A friend of mine raves about it, (although he is sponsored by them).

For us, we think he is bonkers, especially considering you could get yourself to the velodrome and probably have more fun!

Yes, Amsterdam. Ah the velodrome sounds fun too. I'm just a bit bored of the usual stuff and, to get out of Amsterdam in the evening, means fighting my way through all the granny bikes and mopeds on my roadie which isn't much fun. Might see what the Wattbike centre has to offer.

Not any more keef from next year from age 55 you can take your pension pot how you like ,I cant afford a Ferrari but a new bike will definitely be on the cards

145 bus takes you to the front door.
To be honest, I think there is no better training. Especially when it gets really cold here and there is ice and snow on the ground for a couple of months.

Cool - thanks. Last winter (my only winter here) was so mild that the thought of snow and ice hasn't even crossed my mind! My Scottish winters were all about commuting 35miles RT on an Ice Spiker-shod MTB from Dec to nearly April.

Well I already qualify on the age front, so that's good news! I'm sure a bike would be a better investment than anything the financial services sector can offer...
