Is it finished? Why is there a gap between the forks and the bottom of the headtube?0
-
Almost. Bar tape left. That gap was because, until I got the fork cut, I hadn't fully installed the crown raceMy blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

Nice build. I built mine up a couple of weeks ago with Dura Ace 7900 and Deda bars/stem and post. The frame rides really well. It is definitely stiff enough for me! And I don't feel as 'beaten up' following a ride. I came from a cervelo S2. The build quality of the frame and the paintwork are perfect. I will post a picture of my build, I'm just going to work out how.0

My only slight complaint would be the cable braze ons. They hold the ferrule in place but they don't "Snap in: like some other frames. So you have to get the cabling angle bang on or they angle slightly. But, otherwise, the quality is top notch. I'm actually quite tired this weekend from late nights and building it up so it may have to wait till tomorrow and the work commute. I guess I can go the long way roundMy blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

Anyway, spec, let's keep it short
SRAM Red 10 speed group set
Fulcrum Racing 3 with 25c tyres. (Will take 28's, I reckon, if you're thinking of guards, 23's would be best)
Ritchey WCS Link seatpost and Streem Evolink saddle
WCS 4 Axis Stem
WCS Logic 2 bars
Zipp (!) CX Service Course bar tape (I'm getting more of this from Merlin, it's lush and so easy to put on)My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

Very smart frameset!
The thing I really love about Ritchey is that they are one of only a handful of companies that will not only sell you a very tidy frameset, but will also sell you bag of raw metal castings; such as dropouts and braze ons and you can make your own if you're that way inclined. Surley, Lewellyn and Sachs are the only others I can think of.
Compared to his range of high end carbon finishing kit, there must be naff all mark up to be made from a dropout, so I can only imagine he keeps them in his product range to be true to his framebuilding roots as he is still an enthusiastMud to Mudguards. The Art of framebuilding.

You surprise me!0 -
Would you expect me to say if I hated it?
It's all I hoped the Condor would be but that wasn't quite there. Though I blame that more on the size. It's the 200 mile bike. Comfy, spring, stiff. I've not quite dialled in the fit yet but we are talking millimetres either way.
One thing I would say is that the Racing 3's really complement this bike and, although this is mostly down to setup, the Red just seems to be snappier and quieter on this one.My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

Looks lovely now it's finished. Mudguards or just for dry weather?0 -
Oh God, just dry weather. It will take guards, but only with some bodging.

WHOOSH! That's a handsome looking bike. Really tempted to stick some 50mm carbon tubs on my Ribble 525, just to see what it looks like.“Training is like fighting with a gorilla. You don’t stop when you’re tired. You stop when the gorilla is tired.”0 -

It's also welded... UK steel frame are expensive for the extensive filing of the joints to make them seamless, which is rather pointless, frankly...left the forum March 20230 -
