Hi all,
When racing the highest heart rate ive seen is 214 but during training i have never had it above 207.
Anyone have anything similar? Im wondering if the adrenaline kicking in for the sprint finish is raising my heart rate higher rather than my bodies actual cycling performance. Which one should I go for and why?
Thanks
Tom

Neither - go with LTHR (http://www.joefrielsblog.com/2011/04/de ... -lthr.html)0

Yes, it's a lot easier to work on LTHR, but the problem is that most training programmes seem to just mention a percentage of MHR.
For you I do not think it matters though, as they are just bands anyway and your variance is about 3% so not hugely significant.
If you want to be really picky, then use the higher.0 -
As above - just use the highest recorded number (assuming you have no reaon to suspect that the higher number is erroneous). In practice, it doesn't matter if you train against a percentage of MHR, or a percentage of LTHR - as long as your levels are set to one or the other.0
