How much TSS do you do a week?

With regular testing I am pretty sure about my FTP, so I think I can rely on my TSS scores.

I seem to only be able to handle about 600 per week.

Would be interested to know how others fare.

    Between 0 and 1300 this year :)

Thing is, even if your FTP is wrong, it's not going to change that quickly so trends in TSS, CTL etc are still useful.

Highest, 1050, (which I've had 3 or 4 times) this year and lowest 0 !

If I average my accumulated TSS since the beginning of the year it's averaging 640 /week. My easier weeks are 400-600 (rest weeks less), with majority sitting around 600-900. Most weeks I ride 10-14 hrs a week

    Yes, I suppose that's true.

I did one ride at 500 TSS, and my max week is 1100, but after both of those I needed a couple of days on the couch, several bottles of wine and a massage!

    Oh you're back

I would just add that the weekly TSS that is achievable or sustainable is highly dependent (for me) on training composition. 600 might be an easyish week in February but impossible in July.

Around now 700 to 800 per week.

However, in my case at least, TSS, while useful, is skewed since it gives too weight to time spent training compared to intensity.

A long ride can give a TSS of 300-500, I can do several consecutive days of these and maintain performance. I'll be tired at the start of each day but ride this off.

Compared to this an intense VO2 session may only be around 100 TSS. Doing only a couple of consecutive days of these is tough and its much harder to maintain quality.

My personal view is that TSS could be improved if, rather than being based on FTP it was based on mean max. Efforts in the middle of the curve, around 60 minutes, would be similar those now but efforts towards the start/end of the curve would result in different TSS scores depending on your profile. So for the same workout wrt FTP a sprinter would get a lower TSS result compared to a "diesel" if doing a max power session and vice versa for a 4-5 hour ride.
