Not good. He was 90secs down before making it back.

Hesjedal is already forced to ride breaks...he, De Marchi, Dupont and Tschopp have 2mins or so.

Apparently those nice fellows from Tinkoff decided to attack when he was on the floor.

Maybe in your 'I hate Tinkoff and any team Contador rides for' mind. Not in the realm of reality however.

Dan Martin will take this. That little ascent before the final could be a bit too tough for Matthews.

Sntaromita went down in the same crash as Froome and has abandoned (broken finger)

It's all mute now anyway as Froome is apparently back in the bunch.

Well not mute for Santaromita but mute as far as Froome is concerned (for now) and Tinko-Saxoff's alleged attack.

The updates on Radsport suggested this was the case

From the ticker I’m following, I understood that after his crash Froome was right away back with the field, and that he lost contact 5-10 mins after his crash, simply because the speed being ridden at the front split the field in two, and he was still in its latter half at the time.

Yes, twitter suggesting Tinkoff went to the front to hammer it as soon as he crashed. Which as well all know would not be the case. Twitter often gets things wrong and there are no live pictures anyway...

    Gap now close on 6mins.
Not sure how you get that kind of gap if Tinkoff and Movistar are drilling on the front.

Yes FF, Tinkoff-Saxo the home of fair play. Or is this the same team where their own boss had to disqualify half the squad from a game of paintball during a team building exercise as Bertie chose to play outwith the rules? Great leadership and sportsmanship skills right there.

Froome lost quite a lot of skin there.

    Hesjedal nearly virtual leader.

Yates has been down I gather, but back in the peloton now.

Probably enough damage to see off his challenge.
    Degenkolb also involved.
Santaromita the first abandon of the race, also crashed.
3 riders crashed out in all.
