need some advice please. i'd like to fit a device to measure cadence etc while on the turbo. which are the cheaper options for me? i've been advised to by a garmin 500 and extra cadence sensors for multiple bikes, but this sounds initially expensive.
advice appreciated.

Depends what you want to achieve the rest of the time. A Garmin 500 will be a relatively expensive outlay just to measure cadence but comes with a host of other useful training features like a heart rate monitor and GPS positioning when you are out on the road. There are plenty of cheaper bike computers on the market if you just want basic functionality like average speed and cadence.0

Cateye Strada Cadence Wired, speed magnet fits on rear wheel and cadence/speed sensor on non drive side stay. Works very well been using it for a couple of years, cost £30/£35.0

In my experience don't go for half measures. A garmin 500 with HRM and cadence will be all you ever need, don't buy something because its cheap, use the money to put towards something you know will do the job and not NEED upgrading.Trainer Road Blog: https://hitthesweetspot.home.blog/
