Used these guys last year. But from the shop on the main road just outside Alcudia.Massi carbon bikes were very good. One of us had a Ti,again very good. All Ultegra and you can prebook online but can change once in the shop if it doesn't suite you,no problem.

+1 ProBikeHire. Friendly. Decent bikes, reasonable prices, nice cafe. No nasties.

Did a couple of rides out from Pollensa and rode all the obvious cols. Went over to Sa Calobra, Puig Mayor, Batalla and out to the lighthouse etc. and felt I'd done most of what was on offer, hill-wise. Are there more hills than that? Next time I'd be tempted to stay further south, like Soller or even further down.

  • I used to work for pch but wouldnt recomend from what i saw there behind the scenes. Wont elaborate on a public forum but the new max hurzeler opening next year from feb will be the best choice all brand new bikes. Just google cycling holidays max hurzeler. Shop is half the price of pch stuff and has stock most importantly!

The new shop is near the port as you come in to the roundabout with the aeroplane on it turn left as if going up the climb and its on the right. Currently being built but will be ready for feb onwards.
  • Seconded balear reisen if you go to the one on the bay the german guy in there at club pollenca is an absolute gent. The canyons are like new and all sold off either one or two years old. I know as i bought two. Im going back in october to buy another too. Well set up bikes and proffesional service. Your bike is ready and your off within five mins. Ive seen people waiting three four hours to collect a bike many a time in a certain shop in pollenca.

Have to say the germans really know how to do bike hire in mallorca. By far the best and usually the cheapest.

My advice having lived there for 6 years and cycled some 40k miles over the island id stay club polleca on the bay of alcudia and rent a canyon or a max hurzeler bike. Hotel is a bit out of town which is a bit of a pain but everything else is great. I used to ride past it every day.

If you want more info feel free to pm me.

Our club has been going to the Club Pollencia for almost 10 years and that itself says a lot. We’ve loved it every time (what goes on tour stays on tour) and I can’t wait to go in 2015 as I’ve been on a sabbatical for daddy duty the last 2 years. The 2 buffets are great. Our modest club has booked nearly 20 rooms in March “15. Pro cycle hire were fantastic on short notice after I had a mecahanical mess up 12hrs from take off whilst dismantling the bike in sunny south Wales

Me and a few mates are going to Puerto Pollensa in October, stopping at the Puerto Azul which was recommended to us by someone we know. We're all using 2 Go Cycling for our bike rentals who in general have been great to deal with so far (hopefully all will be well when we arrive).
We've got 5 days for riding so we're hoping to get some good rides in.
    I'm very excited!!
  • First time riding in Mallorca in Feb this year.

    I used https://www.pollensacycling.com/

Small but great service and bikes in great condition - and I had one of the cheapest options...
  • Yes good bikes from there too

Theres any number of bike hire shops operating to the North coast, many good ones already mentioned (I second Jeffs views) but an advice to renters is to check their insurance terms, in the event of theft or trashing the bike.
Some clients of mine last year rented some bikes from another firm and, when the bikes were stolen, were told they were liable for the full replacement cost (and they wanted to charge em 1200 Euros each for Scott CR1.s)

Also, I share an above posters view that whist P.Pollenca is a good base for cycling and certainly works well combining it with a family holiday, it does make a number of the fun climbs requiring the same 20kms each way to get either up to the Coll de Femenias or Passing through Selva & Caimari every day. Pesonally Id stay nearer Santa Maria/Binissalem/Consell which makes everything in the Tramuntana doable.
Jeff, I hope youve got out on your bike this year more than I have!
    Fitter....healthier....more productive.....

we stay in Paguera near Andratz when we go,mainly as a mate has an apartment there. But it makes decent base- couple of good bike hire options (RAD and Max Hurzler) good access to the hills from the south West, and reasonable nightlife for the evening. Similar in many ways to Alcudia and Pollenca excepts its SW vs NW and more Germans than Brits in the SW corner
Had a cracking ride yesterday from Paguera to Es Capadella, Puigpuyent, banyalbufar, estellencs, andratz, and back via Es cap to Pag. Lovely weather some great climbs breathtaking views down the coast and top brekky and lunch stops!

  • 4kiks yes i did thanks i managed about 12k miles and mostly in the mountains. Unfortunately my mum died two months ago and had to move back to the uk with six hours notice and have not had a single ride since. Been in the uk nearly three months now.mgone from riding 70-90 miles every day to nothing. Lost all my legs but driving to mallorca in two weeks time to pick the bikes up and start riding in the uk. It looks a bit different here :-(

  • I haven't eaten there, I tend to have lunch in Soller, but there did seem to be some nice ones.

I think it's there that there's also a small corner shop there where you can buy snacks and drinks quite cheaply.

I think its called 1661, but its on the first drag you come into just before the crossing and a little statue. The mixed Pa Amb is to die for, would defo recommend. There is also a little shop by the statue for chilled water refills.

Also a nice cafe for breakfast just as you come into in Puigpunyent.
