    Hi DHL,

Thanks for that, I'll give them ago.

    Cheaper than changing the bike.

    check my edit above.
Actually, i've never had a road bike with decent brakes, but much better than the old steel rims when i was a lad!

Interested in what comes with the frame set. For example down tube barrel adjusters, rear derailleur hanger, expander bung or star nut, spacers? Length of steerer tube? Any info would be useful. Thanks.

Answering my own question now. I bought a 4S frame set from Twenty 3c a local bike shop. Good service. What you get in addition to the frame set is a seat post clamp, a rear derailleur hanger, bottom bracket gear cable guide and down tube barrel adjusters. The headset comes as a kit of parts with a top cap and including an expander bung as the Tracer 1.5 fork has a carbon steerer tube (and a not required star fangled nut.) So you have to first seat the fork crown bearing race on the forks, install the head set and then cut the steerer tube to your required length. After some research it looks like the maximum spacer height below the stem is 40mm with 5mm above the stem. Also included and I never thought of this one is a front calliper fixing cylinder nut for the Tracer forks. I bought Shimano R560 callipers and with this they fitted on the forks perfectly. Very pleased with the frame set but was only marginally cheaper to build the bike with my spare bits and pieces.
  • Looks very cool! The blue hints are very nice.

That is a lovely bike- I plan on buying one of these framesets sometime later this year to replace my current (one size too small) alloy frame.
I'll be using it with full guards in the winter and for races in the summer- it looks good enough for it 8)

Had a problem with the expander bung supplied with the headset. Could not tighten it in the steerer tube. Took the bung apart and with the bottom section gripped in a vice ran the internal bolt well into the bottom section. Very tight to begin with then the bolt eased through the thread. Reinstalled and all set up as per the book this time.
