KMC 11 speed Missing Link - Reusable?

  • Agreed: choose your seller carefully - if these are fake, they've gone to a lot of trouble (all the design, markings and packaging is indistinguishable from one bought locally though) and if they're that good at knocking out fakes they need to take a good look at themselves think about what they're making (why knock out a $2 item when you could knock out a $20 one for the same effort?)

My suspicion is that these are probably made on a ghost shift in the real factory (ie. KMC order a million, factory knocks out the million plus a few thousand spare which "accidentally" find their way to market)

I've been using the re-useable KMC 10 speed link on my 11 speed chain for the last year or so. No noticeable issues with noise or gear changing. Must have used the same link 8 or 9 times in that period. Ever so slightly easier to open than on a 10 speed chain but not enough that I would worry as the chain is always under tension.
