couldn't attain peak heart rate despite Buttertubs.

Spent the weekend in Reeth and had a super time however....
The day before the 1st Stage me and a mate went up Grinton Moor at a peak heartrate of 164bpm. The day after the 1st Stage we did Grinton Moor followed by the dastardly Buttertubs. Thing is I was feeble before the ride and pretty weedy during it and my peak bpm was 151. Is this a big drop off over two days? Is it coincidental with feeling rubbish? Do I have a medical excuse for being pappy? Btw Buttertubs is much harder than Grinton. What, if anything, could be happening?

Sounds like you were off it on day 3 - or perhaps you didn't man-up when it got tough :)

Knackered? When I was doing a daily 50k RT commute, I could get my HR up high on Monday with fresh legs - by Friday I couldn't.
