300m sprint by Kristoff and nearly go it. He had no choice though as his last man swung off. Sagan major class to get back in the mix. Demare 3rd. Coquard in the mix again.

If Renshaw can't finish it off from that position he doesn't deserve a team like that.

Cant believe how meekly Greipel let Sagan take Kittel's wheel from him. Something's not right.

    Kittel but only just.
Damn Cav not being here to give him a run for his money.

Kittel looking like he is going to win every single sprinters stage....at least this was close.

Great watching Sagan working his way up through the field. Was sat on Kittel's wheel for ages whilst Phil was saying that he was too far back!

Sagan up to 2nd, Contador to 5th Team car wise.

Greipel had a great view of a world class sprint from his position.

Renshaw didn't really look like he knew what he was doing to be honest. Shift from last leadout man to sprinter must be quite difficulty mentally.

I think that sprint would have suited Cav, such a shame :(

    Indeed.

From memory the last few seasons as a sprinter had shown why he is a good lead-out man - can get in a good position (ok, so today he had a lot of help) but doesnt have that top speed to finish the job off.

Looking more and more like Greipel is on the downside of his sprinting career.

Looked like Renshaw was back to leadout duties - for Kittel!! ;)

Actually, I wonder if that was the issue. He forgot, in the heat of the moment, that he wasn't leading anyone out. That's why he sat down. Then he realised and started sprinting again, but by then it was too late.

That was actually a really strong, long sprint from Kittel. Demare too.

Maybe was hoping someone would come past and he could slipstream them but it looked a bit odd

He would make a decent classics rider though...

Greipel did ok actually, he got bogged down behind slower riders as the main 5 got out ahead and then he had to start his sprint early to have any chance but by then it was too late.

I'm sure Kittel's is a fine enough ar5e, but Sagan must be bored looking at it now

Did OPQS forget that Cav wasn't there ? Or were they really expecting Renshaw to do something in the sprint ?

Worth a pick for Griepel tomorrow? Could be desperate for a result?

(EDIT: Or OPQS to dominate, classics style - is Kwiatowski ok?)
