Tour of Austria (SPOILERS)

Go on Li'l Pete. Very mature ride by the sounds of it. Read like only Caruso and Moreno were able to stay with him on the climb.
And obviously a terrific stage win for Dayer.
Hopeful for highlights.0 -
More sausage for Peter?Correlation is not causation.0

Surely you wouldn't wear the Brit Champs jersey?
It's different wearing the Italian one or something because you don't qualify to ride for it so it's more of a homage.Life is unfair, kill yourself or get over it.0 -

I know it would be against the rules. But it is lovely....0 -
Not bad for Dayer Quintana, considering he hasn't raced for 3 months. Looking at his race program, WTF are Movistar doing making him race Paris Roubaix and De Ronde?0

Someone has to ride them for Movistar! They're not exactly chock-full of northern classic types. Won't do him any harm.0 -
Blooming Heavyweight! A Colombian climber racing Paris-Roubaix!!! Please tell me he finished the race,
DD.0 -
In the rain. Boss.
Contador is the Greatest0 -
PK is the man. When he is riding off grid and out of the train he does super. Proper little attacker too. Impressed in Coppi and impressed here. Really hope he moves away from the stiff and restrictive Sky set up and get a shot in the big time. He can never be one of my favourites given his background but I will still support him.
ps. for some reason he is no longer in Nat Champ shorts.Contador is the Greatest0 -

Unfortunately not. Did Flanders too, but unsurprisingly didn't finish.0 -

It is not disappointing in either regard.
Check out the race when Di Luca was making moves.

Dayer was part of an 8 man breakaway who had up to 10 mins. At 40km to go they had 4mins. At the base of the climb it was 1.30. Dayer went solo at 4km and held on for the win.Contador is the Greatest0

What a miserable climb that must have been.0

"I felt physically well before this race and wanted to test my legs," Dayer said. "I wasn't planning to get into today's breakaway, though - we were just controlling the race, but at some point, we were in a group of ten up front. I had to keep going after making the group, and also to profit of the gap that stayed the same practically until the foot of the climb.
"I took a strong turn on the lower slopes and when I realized I was alone. I told to myself: 'It's now or never.' I went on full steam until the finish - there were no time references, only visual ones, and until I didn't get into the final 200 meters I didn't feel I could win.
"I just couldn't believe myself, it was spectacular. I cried out of emotion, and in a matter of thousandths of a second, everyone important in my life came to my mind: my team, my family, Nairo, my girlfriend. This is the best way I could reward them for everyone they did for me. We had come close to the win here with Javi Moreno and Lobato, and we deserved it.
"I hadn't raced since the Giro del Trentino - I spent almost two months in Colombia, training hard, in long sessions to build my muscles and lose fat, and things are turning out well. This win convinces myself I'm not just Nairo's brother - I can win as well, things are achievable when you make efforts."Contador is the Greatest0 -

It's a thin line between love and hate. Because life's too short for "Meh"!
Great Dayer quote, btw. Brother's in arms: Nairo & Dayer, Vs Simon & Adam....a rare 100% loyal Pro Race poster. A poster boy for the community.0 -

Fair play to GOurmetfein. Konrad this year similar to Zoidl last, although not quite as good.0 -
Lil' Pete keeps yellow.
Hoooray!Correlation is not causation.0 -
No expense spared at the Tour of Austria - not just a feedzone with a some energy bars and bananas but a full on, eat-all-you-can buffet:

Big stage today, with a long MTF.
Jungels currently in a 7 man break, who have a 7'20 lead. He's only 3 minutes something back on GC.0 -
Petrov wins the MTF from the break.
Looks like:
1. Petrov
2. Quintana
3. Kennaugh
4. Zoidl
No time gaps yet, but Pete increases his lead ahead of the TT.0 -
It looks like he'll lead Moreno by just under a minute with a 24k TT and sprint stage to go
Correction, just over a minute: GC - 1 Kennaugh 2 Moreno +1:02 3 Zaugg +1:17 4 Caruso +1:27 5 Konrad +2:35 6 Quintana +2:40 7 Golcer +3:05 8 Capecchi +3:11Twitter: @RichN950 -
Stage:
1 Petrov
2 Quintana +24
3 Kennaugh +26
4 Zoidl +26
5 Zaugg +32
6 Moreno +44
7 Caruso +1:20
8 Warbasse +1:25
9 Degand +1:25
I think Kennaugh has 58 seconds over Moreno in 2nd.0
