Nice little race this one and throws out some good photos. Got to love that Kennaugh throws mud at Sky with that win. Also, what. a. kit.

Just caught the end on ORF Sport.
A pretty testing uphill finish they used last year.
He had a look round, Caruso on his wheel the rest, strung out,
went to the other side of the road and by the time they rounded the bend,
Caruso was gone and Little Pete was free and clear.

I'd have loved to see him at the Tour, BUT I think leading the team in this race, maybe Poland, then going into the Vuelta with some level of protectedness could be the making of him. Maybe more so than riding 4th/5th man in the Tour. Maybe.

I think he's really unlucky at the composition of the Tour squad. Pate/Zandio in place of a climber, understandably given that's where they were weak, and cobbles. So it was Kennaugh or Nieve. But if he ends up with an opportunity to ride for himself at a GT, that would be a big win.

I doubt Nieve's place was ever up for discussion.

Aye. Point being it wasn't necessarily his form, but his inexperience vs Nieve, and his surname not being Porte.

Why do people rip Sky apart for turning young riders into bots for a train, but then also do the same for sending said young rider to a race where he is a leader and learns from it?

I agree with this. He's earned the right to be at the Tour but it's better for him personally to not be there. Watching Geraint yesterday I was thinking it was a waste.

The clue is in the word Sky.

Was in Kitzbuhel a few years ago, the stage came through town and started the next day right outside our hotel, couldn't think of many better places to see the racers close up. Didn't fancy the race up the mountain though.

Love Kennaugh. He's got a big future. Good to see the national jersey already winning races.

If Rapha released that kit without the sponsors on, they'd make a killing

Why is there someone hiding behind the podium girl either trying to steal the sausage or waiting to catch it if Pete drops it?

Don't know how to break this to you Frenchie but I have it on good authority he's intending going to white shorts as soon as possible. I think an online campaign is needed to talk some sense into him!

The blonde podium girl couldn't look more Austrian if she tried! Looks like she belongs carrying a tray of steins in some mountain side inn.

Somebody stop him. That kit as just about as good as any cyclist looks currently, IMO.
It's only a bit of sport, Mun. Relax and enjoy the racing.

Quintana wins stage 3 up the Kitzbuhler by 54 seconds. No, no. Not that one. His brother Dayer.

Kennaugh 3rd. Now leads by 29s.

I wouldn't normally dream of wearing anything Sky or Rapha, but blimey that kit is fabulous. I wouldn't normally dream of saying 'fabulous' either. Want.
