Evening guys
I've just picked up from here a CS500 Polar which I note you can also by a power Meter sensor that works off the chain somehow.
I have been looking at the stages units but seeing as I now already have the Polar was wondering if anybody has any experience of the Polar power sensor arrangement ?
Cheers

Used to have one a few years ago with a cs800 which I guess uses the same power meter. Unless they've improved I wouldn't bother. They are tricky to set up, are heavy, look appalling and the data is inconsistent. On the turbo, where a powermeter really comes into its own, it is useless - something to do with harmonic resonance. With PMs the main issue is not so much whether the thing is accurate but whether its consistent and repeatable. I found the polar was not repeatable and therefore untrustworthy, for eg. a hill repeat on the same day could show 25% more ave power for a slower time.
I wouldn't bother again, save up for a PM which uses strain gauges. That said the software that came with the polar was very good.0
