Is just 1 (one!) beer with your meal the night before a race, sportive, etc, going to have any detrimental effects on your performance?
It's full of calories for carb loading and the effects of alcohol and subsequent dehydration are going to be tiny - surely!
(I cycle better when I'm pissed, anyway! )

I've always found 3-4 pints the night before a race helps my performance. Might try cutting down even more one day see if that works even better.[Castle Donington Ladies FC - going up in '22]0
