However hands down the best one is Udder Cream. Yep the stuff they put on cows udders when they milk them.

This is what Bag Balm is primarily intended for too  Hope I don't start squirting milk.

Yes - they're all pretty similar. I started using Assos because it used to have a pleasant tingle when applied but they've taken out that ingredient .

    WHAT??????

The cooling tingle is / was the best thing about Assos creme.

What will I get now when my Assos pot runs out?

Yes, it's a tragedy. Don't know why they did it. Now it's just neutral and doesn't even smell like it used to. I'll have to find another way to tingle down there.

Thanks for the replies, I opted to get the Assos cream to begin with because quite a few people rated it on this thread. So how much do you need to use for each application and is it best to apply it to yourself, the chamois, or both?
This was Keith Bontrager's suggestion a few years ago
" I was walking around in the pits on a rest day in Courchavel, France with some German journalists, weighing bikes. I noticed a lot of saddles were glistening, covered with fat. I'd been playing with chamois preps for the TransAlp, and had moderate success with them. But the appearance of the pros' saddles gave it away. They used copious quantities of the stuff."

Copious quantities meaning you put it in by the handful, rather than a fingertip's worth

You ought to try Original Source Mint & Tea Tree shower gel for your after ride shower. Definitely a warm glow down below.

    Anyone tried plain old vaseline?

I make my own chamois cream using a tub of Vaseline(with Shea Butter), a tube of jock itch stuff, a tube of triple antibiotic cream, and some body lotion. Mix well. Lasts for ages. Never had any issues with doing it. Doesn't cost a lot.
