how often if at all do you guys and gals get a sports massage?
Recently when going out on the bike the legs feel like lead and extremely tight, just below my hip/back of glute/bum absolutely kills when making a real effort stamping on the pedals up hill - hoping a massage will sort me out?
appreciate anyone's thoughts.. or maybe a foam roller would do the job? - although it seems they get mixed reviews on here

It would be overly-simplistic to claim that either a massage or a foam roller would be the answer to your problems, without knowing what is causing the muscle discomfort in the first instance. Some idea of your riding/frequency/effort levels/recovery history would be useful.0 -
Sounds like you need some rest to recover. A massage is good to help aid recovery, but has other benefits too.
I had my first one earlier this year before my first race of the season and I'll probably have another before my last. Just so I feel like I've done everything I can to prepare for the race and start off the season well and finish on a good note.0 -
Once every few months (not often enough) to get rid of all the knots and tension in my back. Stretching routine can help but I think once they are there it easier to get knots massaged out than stretch them out..0
