First long ride shoulder pain

Had my first long ride (for me) today and within 6 or 8mls my shoulders, particularly my right shoulder was really aching ??
I had to stop a couple of times and in the end I rotated the bars upwards near the end of the ride but the damage had already been done so difficult to tell if this has resolved the problem.I intend to go out again tomorrow to test it but anybody experienced this and what did you do to resolve it ?

Are you saying 6-8 miles is a 'long ride' for you? If the issue relates to riding position, a pic of your setup (with you on it) would be really useful..0

Well I have only just started
Just joking no I noticed the pain starting within 6 - 8mls of my ride. I will try to get a pic up tomorrow but I have also moved the seat forward a little too.0 -
So have you had the pain before, on previous rides? If not, have you altered your position recently?0

I stopped riding about 18mths ago but never had a problem then.So Im just starting again on a used bike (see pic). Its a 57cm and I am 6 foot with about a 34inch inside leg. The pic is of the bike as I bought it just look at the seat height.I have since dropped the seat but the seller was actually not quite as tall as me ?

Forgive the lilly white legs.Went for a ride this evening of only about 10 or 12mls with the bike setup like this and there was no shoulder pain. Look how high I have set the bars but I dont like the angle of the drops now.
