DT350s, Sapim Race silver spokes and Stan's Alpha 340 rims comes to £416.41 and weighs circa 1640g, excluding rim tape (748g front/891g rear). The price includes 2 layers of stans yellow rim tape as you will need this whether running tubeless or not. The added advantage is that this spec allows you to go tubeless in the future.
If you would like Sapim Race black spokes you will need to add £20 to the build cost.
Please could someone take a look at these specs snd give me am honest informed opinion as it's all new to me. Thanks
If I understand correctly, you are on the large side and the Stans 340 are really not the rims for you... at all!
Archetype would be a good rim for you and so many others. You don't need expensive spokes like the CX ray. Archetype go tubeless and so do Velocity A 23, another good candidate.
For you I'd say Ultegra hubs, Archetype rims, Sapim Race rear and Laser front... a nice solid and nippy set of wheels with no drawbacks... you should be able to get them for just over 300 pounds
Where could i get them for sub 300 as all quotes ive had are around 420? Also what tyres would you suggest
You can buy the hubs online for 110 and supply them to the builder... the rest should come at 200-220 with Sapim Race/Laser spokes.. .Strada charge a lot more, but you don't have to go to Strada.
There are dozens of threads about tyres and everyone has different views, hard to give advice on that oneleft the forum March 20230 -
For a good all round, fast yet durable tyre, look at the Conti GP4000S or Michelin Pro 4 Service Course. At your weight suggest 25c. Conti GP 4 Seasons is also quite good, harder wearing than GP4000S but not quite as fast.
I have used Ugo a couple of times to build me wheels, including Archetype rims on Shimano (XT) hubs. Other brands of wheel builders are available.WyndyMilla Massive Attack | Rourke 953 | Condor Italia 531 Pro | Boardman CX Pro | DT Swiss RR440 Tubeless Wheels

24/28 Archetypes with CX-Rays and Dura ace hubs. 1640g with Conti Rim Tape measured on my digital luggage scales

These were for a friend, as I have been starting to learn how to build my own wheels (my thanks to Ugo and others for all their advice) and he trusts me enough to let him do his  8) He loves them having put 150 miles on them last weekend
I worked it out that if you used something like Novatecs and ACI DBs it wasn't too far off that weight wise, but significantly cheaper. £110 for the rims, £55 for the hubs with a A291 front and F172 rear and then worst case £25 for spokes if you wanted them in black.0 -

£343.02 could get it cheaper if didnt want the black spoke nipples and spokes0 -
I wouldn't bother with the Alu nipples - £20 for something less reliable and a waste of time.0

They on,y worked out at 6 more i think it was and would prefer them in black for sake of 6 quid. Cant find anywhere cheaper than that0

I wouldnt have alu nipples by choice though - seen a few go wrong.0

Aluminium nipples are mechanically inferior and give problems over time, some information on the issue here

Other than that, the specs are good... TBH I find this online shopping trolley way to spec some wheels rather disappointing: it basically transforms the role of the builder from someone who gives you advice to someone who builds whatever you want regardless of your needsleft the forum March 20230 -
I had actually changed them to brass. Just deciding now whether to save 15 for silver nipples or to keep with the black theme for the whole wheel.0
