    It's a funny old world. I got in 'trouble' a few years back for not buying a gift ('or at least a card') for my wife from our as yet unborn child! I've passed this on to a number of expectant fathers subsequently who have basked in the praise from their deeply touched partner!

    As it was Mother's Day, I thought it would have been appropriate for your children to buy her something, with your help of course. After all, she is their mother, and not yours as you rightly pointed out.

    In a nutshell, yes, she was being unreasonable :-)

    The only thing I got my mum for Mother's Day was a card that said 'Thanks for putting up with all my sh!t' :-)

    That and lunch, and afternoon tea. It was my parents wedding anniversary on the same day :-)
