That pic was taken from bikeradar article that was taken down; april fool anyone?

Doubtful, 105 11 speed has been predicted for some time and it would make sense and fit in with the usual Shimano release schedule. If it's an April fool it wouldn't be a very amusing one.

As CRC already have pricing on their website, albeit pages that we are not meant to see, I would guess that 5800 will be released in June/July time.
There are enough pages on the web elsewhere to suggest that it's release is imminent. I would imagine that Bikeradar have just been asked not to leak the details yet.

have just been asked not to leak the details yet.

It's standard practice for industry (any industry) publications to be given information ahead of time and asked to embargo it until a specific date. Someone at Bike Radar has written the article but hit the publish button by mistake. It happens.

Yep, that's why I said Bikeradar had been asked not to give the details out yet.......

Of course it's online now, perhaps a confusion between UK and Japan time?

Hmmm the four-arm chain set. ....
Still not 100% sure about it. Mind you, this new105 looks better than the Ultegra chain set.

Think this might be a killer group however. Probably feela identical to Ultegra, cheaper and the hydro brakes and disks will stomp the winter bike / CX world.

I think it looks really good, will be the groupset of choice for most.

Yep - I quite like it (and do prefer it slightly to the higher groupsets aesthetically)

Important groupset for Shimano - (I don't have numbers to back this up, so it's just a guess) - 105 is where things start to get serious and has to offer the best value/performance ratio of all of their offerings.

The 52/36 sounds ideal for me.

I'm only just considering a change to 10 speed. Anyone upgrading who wants to sell me their 5700 groupset? :)

Actually I'm in the process of taking off 5700 STIs, rear mech and R565 chainset.

My 10 speed only wheels are a very good thing for my bank balance, in fact I'd say that they have more than paid for themselves

When I bought my RS80s I had a basic choice between RS80 (10 speed max), or RS81 (11 speed max), the RS81s were about £50 more expensive, which I could afford. But knowing Ultegra 11 speed was due, I deliberately chose the RS80s to prevent me from buying it!

So while I stare longingly at 6800 the me from the past is saying no :)

RS80s here too. This tactic will work until I inevitably decide that I "need" new wheels too... Then it gets mega expensive.

That's the other problem isn't it. You start thinking oh well if I get the RS81s now I can sell my RS80s, and it gets worse from there :(

I'm surprized the hollow chainring technology has trickled down to 105. I can' think of a single reason to buy Ultegra over the new 105 apart from a few grams weight saving ?
