Michelin Pro4 Service Course on offer at Planet X for £15.99 (60% saving on RRP)

Must be worth a punt. Just ordered 2 (700 x 25) - these are slightly more expensive at £16.95 but you're still getting a pretty good deal.

Whats the difference between a normal tyre and a Clincher?
I have Askium S WTS and Bontrager Race, are these compatable for the tyres?0 -
Same. Normal tyres are clinchers. The ones that won't fits are tubulars (basically a round enclosed tube that you glue onto a rim).
Rather confusingly there are also tubeless which are clinchers but with no inner tubes.
So yes, Graham, you can buy these. My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

Cheers, Worth buying just to stock for later in the year/next year.0

Very much so. The Pro 4 are hugely underrated IMO. Excellent tyres. Easily as good as the more fashionable GP40000S or ULtremo ZX. A steal at that price. My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

Couldn't agree more - I bought a pair for a decent price with limited expectations after my experience with Pro 3's (far too delicate). They were great and I've been using them throughout this winter daily commuting with only one p*ncture. IMO they are great tyres and I don't really understand why Michelin haven't made a better fist of marketing them.

Another Pro4 fan here, get 'em while they're hot!Music, beer, sport, repeat...0

Thanks for the heads up. I've ordered a couple.
Will be interesting to see how they compare with GP4000s. Especially at that price!"You really think you can burn off sugar with exercise?" downhill paul0 -
I'm an ultremo rider, ordered a couple of these. Mad not to at that price.Insert bike here:0

Pretty good review here:-

So hopefully not too much of a gamble.
Really like my Ultremo ZX's but find them a bit fragile for the state of our pock marked and gravely roads these days. With Local Authority budgets being squeezed, I don't see the situation improving any time soon.0 -
Thanks for this. Just ordered a pair of 700*25 in black.
Stock went from 31 to 18 in about 5 minutes between ordering.....0 -
They're excellent, as were all the pro race series, outstanding value at this price.0

They don't come in a box so I'm guessing that they got a job lot of factory seconds on the cheap.0

You'll be ok though if you stick below 35mph.
I wasn't joking the tyres just come in a bag, not a box in sight.0 -

One of mine was in a box.Insert bike here:0 -
Possible that they were OEM tyres, for a bike manufacturer to fit to new bikes - in a big batch with no packaging is common.
Just be careful - because sometimes those OEM tyres arent the same spec as retail ones...0 -
Haven't received mine yet so can't comment, but how can Planet X sell them as genuine tyres and them potentially be of inferior quality???
Surely Michelin would not be happy as this may lead to a damaged reputation.....0 -

I'll be okay then
I tacked on another 5 x high5 water bottles with 10 zero tablets @ £1.99 each
A great deal but I am running out of room for all the bottles now "You really think you can burn off sugar with exercise?" downhill paul0 -

I received two yesterday, unboxed. I reckon they're off new bikes? Just a guess. They had marks to possibly suggest that.
If they're exactly the same (sans boxes) as you'd get if you bought them elsewhere at full price, then they're fine I reckon.0 -
I wont bother with PX again, after they told me they screwed up on Stock and did nothing with my order for 3 days I placed an order with bike.discount, this was about 4pm yesterday, the package arrived today at 11am ish, yes a bit more expensive than PX but a much better service.
And my Pro 4 tyres are in boxes.0 -
Got mine yesterday both in boxes.'Hello to Jason Isaacs'0

Also received mine today in boxes.0

Are these going to be harder wearing than my Duranos ? I've had no flats with them but they have been cut to ribbons0

you guys that got yours when did you order? I ordered Sunday 11am, so wondering if they just put International orders to one side and then run out.0
