Had an ultrasound scan which revealed this. MRI scan in 6 weeks to have a further look. Anyone else suffered with this as a result of cycling and do you know what caused it? i.e. saddle position, cleat position, muscular imbalance/infilexibility etc.? Did you recover and how long did it take?

I have had this and it was a combination of all the things you state which exarcebated a condition brought on initially by running.
I had good results from eccentric exercise therapy. Do a search and come back if you have anymore question about the protocols involved.0 -
Did yours recover 100%? Sports doc said he could see a tear in the tendon and a triangular 'excavation'(? I forget the exact word he used) in my lateral meniscus...25% off your first MyProtein order: sign up via https://www.myprotein.com/referrals.lis ... EE-R29Y&li or use my referral code LEE-R29Y0

100% for cycling. I haven't reintroduced running yet, but plan to bring it in for this year, very gradually. Mine was also the lateral hamstring. I didn't go as far as you with scans, but worked with a physio to correct bike fit and posture issues, and worked out an eccentric exercise protocol based on heavy loads and low reps. It was very effective and had me back on the bike within 6 weeks (from finding walking very uncomfortable). I was racing 6 weeks after that.
You have my best wishes, it was a really horrible experience.0 -
