  • What do you mean 'lose' 1/2" of frame? I assume you took a bit off the dropper and not your actual frame?

See the little ring. I think that was originally seat tube.

No other way to make the dropper fit,as its fully extended height was simply too high for me to reach the ground,at least when i stop now,i wont fall off......and whats wrong with toe clips?

When you stop you'll fall off.
And when you stop on a steep or slippery hill you won't be able to start again.

No other way around it as to lose a little bit of frame...its not gonna hurt anything, the clamp still clamps up tight.
What harm do YOU think it will do then...?If i was to cut the post down,it would still be just as high in the up position,as the 'mechanism box' bit sits on the top of the tube. So,if the frame tube is cut,the whole seat post will be lower..See what i mean..? Trust me on this...;)

What he said, plus a few other things.

I find clips absolutely lethal to ride with, and thats just commuting. PITA to get out of quickly.

Cutting down the seat-tube really shouldn't be an issue at all, tbh, assuming its a good clean cut.

Except they are generally slit there. Otherwise the clamp doesn't work.

  • It isn't hard to drill a small hole and then cut down to it

True, and I do agree with you. Cutting a slit is far from complex however, as complex as cutting the post down in the first instance - on the basis Soggz says the clamp still works, I am presuming (probably incorrectly knowing my luck) that he did in fact replicate the slit.

No need, the 'slit' as you put it was long enough anyway...Its fine,i wouldnt have done it otherwise.
And i have never come a cropper due to toe clips...i guess i know how to use them...;)
