Indoor trainer for endurance?

Hi guys,
I've been reading loads of threads on the turbo vs rollers debate. I noticed however that many people say turbos are good for fitness and power. Now as an ex rugby player I don't lack in power so that is not my goal. My goal is to increase my endurance and ability to ride faster for longer.
So which would I benefit from most?
I think I will just be going with a cheap halfords model though as I don't have the cash to go mad. It's only for those days where the weather is extreme or if I need a quick blast before work etc

Mountain biking is the bicycle version or rallying, except you don't need a Co-Driver!

Hi pal i got a Tacx turbo for £129 from decathlon and its the dogs wotsits.. I also went online and chose a programme from sufferfest for £10 you can choose what video you want any bad weather im on it in the garage..0

When people say 'power' in cycling they're generally referring to top-end, which compared with power in rubgy, is still endurance.
Your power might be good for 5-10 second power, but any decent 10 stone cyclist would probably still blow your legs off in any interval over 30s - 1 minute. So pretty much regardless of the semantics, all turbo sessions are for endurance when compared to rugby training. It's gona be useful for any intervals from 20 seconds to 20 minutes, and get tedious for workouts over an hour if you're doing steady-state.All the above is just advice .. you can do whatever the f*ck you wana do!

Ahh right ok, that would certainly be of use to me haha.

You can buy rollers with huge resistance. 2000W+ Full on sprint.
I prefer rollers. But it's personal choice.0 -

You can use a turbo to train for endurance and power. Rollers seems good for intensity/intervals.0 -

Ah so you know what it's like to blast away from everyone then discover your power peaked for around 3.5 seconds and are swiftly overtaken? Don't you hate it when that happens? I do :-( took up mountain bike racing last year and have been using a road bike for my fitness.
I feel like maybe I should have taken up track cycling as that seems to be more sprint stuff which would suit people like us. But that's a more expensive game and it's less accessible everywhere in Scotland except Glasgow! Haha.
I do get a buzz when I finish an endurance event though.
