What makes a good mitt then? And can anyone recommend one that is affordable?
    Rapha Classic mitts on sale.

Seriously. I came across this thread as I was looking for a pair on sale. £70 is taking the wee wee. I will be all over a couple of pairs if I can get them below £50 and will bite you hand off at less than £40.

I have tried - Castelli, Assos, Gore, Specialized, Altura and a few budget ones. None come close.
What make them good? Fit, longevity and comfort. The padding is thin but does the job. And keeps doing it for years.

This is probably why they are not in the Rapha sale. They know we are all waiting, and may give in to full price.
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.

If you want a good alternative leather glove try these from Gripp

Still quite pricey for a pair of gloves but they are sooooo comfy!
