Come on, it's been alluded to elsewhere let's have a thread on it.

How do you define the different "classes" in society..........................If you believe such things are still relevant, and where would you place yourself in such a hierarchy.

    I was trying to make a serious point about how ones perception of class is relative and people generally like to consider themselves in the middle of a spectrum rather than at an end. They therefore split the spectrum around their own position. This means that, no matter how low you are, as long as you can look down on somebody or up to somebody, you don't realise you're near the end of the spectrum.

    cue predictable Arran77 joke........

    If you think about it, you do not have it.
    The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
    I am not sure. You have no chance.

  • To find out what class someone is ask them "What's your favourite tea?"

    If their reply is Lansang souchong or Darjeeling they are upper class.

    If their reply is PG Tips they are middle class.

    If their reply is pie and mash or stew they are working class.

  • 1. At home, do you have more books than DVDs?

    No books at all = Vagrant / non-working class
    NO= Working Class

    2. YES> Did you buy most of the books yourself?

    YES= Lower Middle Class

    3. NO> Are any of the books about your family?

    NO = Upper middle class
    YES = Upper Class

    You're a 'class' person in my book if you have the courage of your convictions.

    ahh vtech, don't confuse internet opinions/bluster with real life scenarios. In real life I like to think that most of the people on here would go out of there way (if within their power) to help someone in trouble :)

    I suppose that to believe that in the face of evidence is a mark of class too.

    we're all human, i've disagreed with vtech at times on the interweb, in real life the bollox we sometimes talk on here means nothing at all, I'd wager no one will come on here and say they wouldn't help a fellow human in trouble (and mean it) :wink:
    Therefore we are all class people :D
