Hi,

(Posted here as I thought it's as much to do with fitness, but could have been in pro or general)

For those who ride with HRM and Power meter, may be interested to see that Christian Knees and Ian Boswell of Team sky occasionally post to Strava, and some of their rides from their training camp have appeared with their PM, HRM, and cadence data.

I find it amazing to see that on these 'easy' rides their (Christian's) HR's are literally just ticking over 100-120bpm yet he's putting out approx 300watts for quite a duration. I'm not surprised at how fit (obviously) he is, but just how effecient he is when you compare some of his segments.

And with this ride of Ian Boswell's, I also find it quite amazing how for 30km's his output (watts) and heart rate are so steady, yet the terrain doesn't exactly look flat - I find it so hard on downhill sections to keep the power up and steady.

Hopefully interesting to you all.

They're pretty easy rides for those guys. 300w for 90 mins isn't difficult for anyone decent, let alone a pro who weighs 70kg. I'm sure the interesting stuff will happen when they hit the hills.

But in this day and age everyone knows what the best riders put out so I suppose it's not surprising.

Surely it's 220 minus his age?
