Nope, I agree. But that's the trade off if you want low gears.
Worn or not, makes no difference to me. That one is going to be used on the turbo.

A new one will be fitted to the new wheel.
It's just a case of which make.

But you said you wanted a different one because that one was worn out. If it was worn out if would matter to you as it would skip when you use it with the new chain the new cassette would require.

You've got a pretty entry level groupset, if you're hell bent on spending money XTR cassettes are about the best in 11-34, XT would be more sensible, put the £100 saved on something more worthwhile. Even the pro tour guys often use Ultegra cassettes.

Or, keep asking the same question on this thread repeatedly.

This thread went better than the one in the Road section.
  • Nice new wheels arrive today, so I need a new cassette to go on them.

I want to stick with 11/34 as I am quite happy with that range for the riding I do on my roadie.

I have been using an entry level Shimano CS HG62-10, but I thought the new wheels probably deserve the best. The bike only has Tiagra, but I was hoping to upgrade stuff as and when required.

Any recommendations? Seems like this size is really designated for MTB's.

Don't really care about the price.

whats difficult about answering this ? XT and maybe a new chain...thats its, not asked for advice on hill training, cassette wear or a close ratio cassette

That approach would have avoided all the fun we have had. :D
    Happy Christmas.

XT init, and ignore the others trying to tell you what's best for you even though you know what ratio you like.
