Just thought I would check my serial no on my fox evos to see if it was an affected model and it is. :x "stop using your fork immediately"
At first didn't think I would be affected as its 2014 model bike so should have 2014 fox evos as you'd think?
What are my options will they offer me an upgrade to 2014 model or can I request a refund of some sorts? As its stopping me using bike for a period of time and wasting my time. What rights do I have?
This is such a complete PITA just want to ride my bloody bike ffs. :x

What will happen is Mojo will repair the fork free of charge, the fork won't be upgraded to 2014 spec. I would have a word with the retailer you bought the bike from to see if they will offer you anything. As far as I am aware, they are not legally obliged to, so don't go in all guns blazing at first0
-
Just because its a 2014 model bike doesn't mean it should be a 2014 model fork.
Fox's model year might start later than the manufacturer of your bike starts their model year. It's not 2014 yet!
The 2014 model of the fork is probably the 2013 model with the modification. Plus you get a lower lube and new seals for free.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350 -

Your getting the fork fixed addressing whatever issue it has. When cars have recalls you don't get any compo from the car company.I would guess a week's turnaround max should be expected, but as its Christmas and New Year it'll probably early next year you get it back.0

Isn't the updated tune supposed to be on any bikes purchased after a certain date anyways? Because that's what I'd like tbh if not.SHUT UP AND RIDE!!!

Plus on fox website it says that 2013 forks were on 2013 model bikes or aftermarket and I purchased 2014 model so are they not in the wrong for doing this?SHUT UP AND RIDE!!!

Probably not relevant but it was a fork fitted to an Alpine that caused this all to kick off! Ye be cursed!
Solution is simple, 1) get it fixed. 2) Sell it while freshly serviced, and never buy another Fox fork. I can't count the number of times they've left customers saddled with rubbish, whether it's ridiculous service intervals, wearing stanchions (followed by revised coatings which will definitely fix the wearing stanchions, and cost extra, then wear anyway), cracking lowers, or dampers that both suck and explode. I don't have enough fingers.
Oh and if you don't want to do 2), while it's back getting fixed ask nicely if they'll upgrade it to a damper that doesn't suck balls. Got to be a chance of at least a discount, especially as they'll have the fork in bits anyway.Uncompromising extremist0 -
A suggestion that every manufacturer worldwide is going to switch perfectly every component from one MY to the next coinciding with all the suppliers changes is optimistic at best, in reality laughable.
So you have a 13MY fork, so get on with getting it sorted, as the item was not fit for purpose you have an argument with the selling store in recovering any losses, personally I'd just try for a pair of OK replacements while yours are off getting the fixed so you can at least ride the bike.Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0 -
To be honest the damper is the main problem in the 2013 range - they don't seem to have fitted one! If this is replaced you could be doing pretty well. I wish mine was part of the recall as a couple of weeks without for an improvement would be .......well an improvement.
I am trying to justify the expense of a pike or an x-fusion sweep as a replacement.0 -
My Fox Evo fork on my 2014 Trance was leaking from the air side. Also the CDT dial on the shock span all the way round.
They are in the LBS now. Been sent back to get fixed. The guy in the workshop said that because it would be covered by warranty it should be done in 3 working days.0 -

My point being that should they be charging the same money for 2014 as MY 2013 components ?
Not expecting them to switch straight away but you'd think the price would be different for discounted previous MY components.SHUT UP AND RIDE!!!

How can you be compensated for "time off the bike"? May as well say you ride to work and now have to get the bus then claim for travel expenses or loss of earnings too. You'll get them fixed for free, just be happy at that.Current:

This. I had to wait nearly 2 months for my frame situation to be sorted, which cost me 6 weeks of riding and god knows how many days waiting for couriers and sending emails backwards and forwards, let alone the dozen or so times I had to visit the LBS. You're being offered a free fix, it will be done quickly and you could be out riding by the weekend at the latest, sounds like a bloody good deal to me!!0 -
