Weight training

Alongside getting the miles in by riding regularly, is it beneficial to do weight training in the gym to gain some strength, power and muscle mass in the legs?
Cheers.

From what I've read, unlikely to benefit cycling performance for anything other than standing starts in a high gear, but 100% guaranteed to increase weight lifting performance.25% off your first MyProtein order: sign up via https://www.myprotein.com/referrals.lis ... To be fair almost nothing is new and has been discussed many times before.
I have found weight training improves my performance - at judo, does nothing for cycling other than match sprint and kilo. It also puts on weight for some people.
It is good for you and you feel better for it.0
