Im relatively new to cycling and I did the lactate threshold heart rate test recommended in joe friels cycling bible and I got a heart rate of 192 bpm average. My maximum heart rate is 207bpm so my threshold is 92-93% of my maximum.
Does this sound to high up my maximum? I appreciate i need to repeat the test.

Threshold is typically around 90-92% of MHR, so it sounds about right. Won't be the same for everyone though. A precise number is probably unattainable, and not entirely necessary anyway.

It sounds about right. As above a precise number won't really be attainable, it will vary according to a number of variables.

Max HR is not really that relevant, other than as a sense check that the first few tests you do are in the right area, which in your case they seem to be.

Thereafter training zones will be set from your threshold HR and you should notice a qualitative difference in terms of perceived effort as you approach and go through this level. (Breathing is one of the most useful, as effort increases you will go from barely noticing your breathing to sucking in every lungful, changes this pattern often coincide with moving into a new zone)

If you are not training with a powermeter then its worth getting used to these signs and any associated independent measures (speed, time spent in zone, distance covered). This will help you monitor fitness improvement and act as a sense check. HR can vary and there will be times it will say you are in one zone but you feel as if you are in another. Also for short (<5minute) intervals HR is not really that helpful, by the time it hits target the interval may well be nearly over. Speed and/or RPE is best for these.
