My desert island might be a bit miserable:

    Tindersticks - Tindersticks II
Echo and the Bunnymen - Heaven Up Here
The Smiths - The Queen is Dead
    The XX - XX
    Jeff Buckley - Grace
    Aim - Cold Water Music

Interpol - Turn on the Bright Lights
    Richard Thompson - Mock Tudor

    ..and finally...

    Massive Attack - Blue Lines
    - OR -
One of my compilations (if it fits on a CD, does it count?)

It's just a hill. Get over it.

Likewise with me and Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds' "Let Love In", which I adore...or Morphine's "Like Swimming"...

I was deliberating over Head on the Door, Cure and Technique, New Order, but now I've remembered Script of the Bridge - The Chameleons which beats both, but so does Strange Times, What Does Anything Mean? Basically and Strip, how did I forget them. Probably, one of the most underrated bands ever I've ever heard and one which I've spent far too long not listening to.

Very true - I was into Interpol, and a mate said, "hey, if you like them, try these guys"

    Lovely stuff.

Felt are also another who nearly made the list, but I'd have to go for a compilation - "Absolute Classic Masterpieces" would hit the spot

It's just a hill. Get over it.

I can't believe I forgot that one. What a monumentally fantastic album. If you don't own it, then go and buy it. It's ace, genius, truly mind bogglingly good.

    I quite like it.
