    Lovely!

Can't wait to see this built up.

I love my De Rosa. I worried initially about going from a carbon to alu frame set but it's definitely been worth it.

I have the same pedals as you - they are classed as black. I've always had Shimano pedals but would never go back now. Time are much better on my old knees!

As I said in my original post I would love a carbon crankset and yours looks great. Hurry up and get his built!
Great to hear you're still loving the bike. Once this is built I'm not planning on getting another for some time.

I was really surprised how light the frame was. Because it's aluminium I had convinced myself that meant heavy (relatively speaking ofc). Clearly not so. Smooth welds too. A great piece of craftsmanship.

I'll definitely post some pics once it's assembled. Should only take me a week or two now, depending on how much spare time I'm allowed ;)

Just a quick update. I've owned and loved this bike for a few months now and can safely safe I am smitten with it. I had initially worried about going from carbon (Planet X SL Pro) to an Alu frame. My worries were unfounded.

Here's a picture from a lovely sunny ride today :-

I also mentioned earlier in my post two chinese carbon bottle cages which cost around £13.00 for the two including delivery. Well they do indeed weigh in at 18g each and do exactly what they say on the tin. Lovely:-

I mentned earlier that I would love a lovely campagnolo carbon group set for this bike, however the Veloce suits my limited abilities and I'm going to hang on to it for the time being. The only other thing I'm looking to change is the seat post. I had a Chinese carbon fibre 3k weave on my PX. It was unbranded and looked really well with the wheels and made a big difference comfort wise over the Alu one.

All in all I'm extremely happy. I've always wanted a De Rosa and it certainly hasn't left me disappointed.

I hope so. It came with the bike from Evans. Why?

Lovely bike. Re the cages, I had some like that from China, after a while they started working loose and then cracking around the bolts. Also didn't hold the bottles firmly enough. I eventually got rid after both my bottled flwe out after I hit a pothole in a road race. Could've caused carnage but I managed to catch them both between my feet and the bottom bracket (skillz!) Anyway, hopefully yours are a bit better but something to be aware of.

I'm not expecting them to last long for the money! I just thought I would give them a go. Hopefully they will tide me over until the other half surprises me with some De Rosa cages!

The ones I had held the bottles firmly enough (too firmly - the bottles were squashed in place!) but the heel of one cracked and the lacquer scratched easily which in turn scratched the bottles resulting in both looking a mess. The CF was also about twice as thick as it needed to be.

I then went on to Elite Custom which I think are great for Pros but if you keep them for long also end up scratching the bottles and getting scratched up themselves. Now using stainless steel cages which seem to be cheap and less damaging to the bottles.

Just that I've never seen the white Arx version with the same graphics as yours. I prefer yours to be honest!

One of these is going to be my 2015 project once I get the last bits on my 838 upgraded so that the parts off that can become donor parts for the Milanino, also need to offload the Allez which is the current bad weather bike.

Looking forward to having a more classy looking bad weather bike than the Allez 8)
