    You don't need it dropped to the top tube. Two inches lower than optimum pedalling height at most.

    I dont think anybody is disagreeing with that... but you seem to be confused

    Its called optimum pedalling height for a reason, because pedalling your bike with your saddle 2 inches lower than this for any length of time is not optimal, if fact its bloody uncomfortable.

    Raising it 'on the fly' makes things a lot lot more comfortable!

    So press the button:

    A) Lowering= (2 inches, 3 or more whatever floats your boat) fun, flow, big smiles

    B) Raising= no crook back, stuffed knees and more energy to enjoy A)
    A berm? were you expecting one?
