Hey you bunch I want some info from you all.
Who has any experience of doing an Enduro.
The reason being is that I fancy setting one up in the Peak District as a bit of a laugh one weekend in springtime for the inhabitants of here.
So what says ye, are you up for a giggle whilst riding in the peaks over a weekend next year?

Its the Peaks lots of ups and steep downs but I'll try and make it fair.
Anyway what do people want? Timed balls out flat stages or timed downhill sections, where those that take it steady may beat those who fly down but crash?I'm going to blow the bank on a new build ( within reason ) NOW DONE!!

Mixed flat/down?! Needs to be pedally, just as long as I dont have to get off and push (doesnt take much haha!)
Mmm paella... I was actually dissapointed it didnt appear on the ccc2cc!0 -

Ok looking into this could based in Eyam not a million miles from a great pub http://www.theminersarmseyam.co.uk/ which gives excellent access to both white and dark Peak, for lets say4-6 of April 2014.
Can get nice cottage for about £42 / head Fri- Sun.
This is just a scenario to give you a clearer picture of the weekend planned.I'm going to blow the bank on a new build ( within reason ) NOW DONE!!

As for the event, sounds good. I think a DH might be better for the first time, as you said, the 'slower' riders may have be better than they think, and will get quicker, whereas when you're timing uphill, everyone gets slower during the day.It takes as much courage to have tried and failed as it does to have tried and succeeded.

Dang, Richie, you are such a temptress!
As one of the riders who descends so slowly I can ride up the damn things quicker, my vote would be to time the flat pedally bits!
But m'eh, I'll go with the flow! How would I write my own epitaph? With a crayon - I'm not allowed anything I can sharpen to a sustainable point.

I've been doing some enduro's and XC races this year so happy with either, Pencil me in, i'll race as long as i dont explode going that far north?0

We might have something happening here.
Looking at the initial comments I reckon that with my vast local knowledge I could have it as loops. So that the better pedaling people have a chance. I know that on the Wales ride I was waiting longer at the top of a climb for the last body than I was waiting after a descent.I'm going to blow the bank on a new build ( within reason ) NOW DONE!!

Count me in!!
As long as there's lots of contouring then it'll be grand......0 -
Sounds epic, I would be most up for this, barring a clash with MSG race dates0
-
could always try and have categories, so we'd have overall, climbing and DH winners. Will be more complicated but then everyone has something to aim for if they feel they're better at one or t'other.
Count me in!!0 -
hm don't really understand all this timed section talk but looks interesting0
-
Well folks there are enough of us now to start looking at dates
So I propose either 4-6th april
2-4th May
These are the only dates that are fitting in with my rota and the weather should be half decent then.

April would be better for me as I'll be knee deep in uni assignments in May0

April better for me as well.
I was going to cancel my gym membership, but I best start training!0 -

April will be better I imagine, though it depends on when, I may be busy on the Saturday. But don't change anything because of me (not that you would!)It takes as much courage to have tried and failed as it does to have tried and succeeded.

April 4th to 6th is in my diary!!!
Richie - can we include Starwars as a night-time descent?0 -
We shall see Starwars may be used as a penalty shoot out if there is a drawI'm going to blow the bank on a new build ( within reason ) NOW DONE!!

Hmm... 6th April is ringing a bell for some reason ( could be an anniversary of sorts, can't remember..) but as long as I have enough warning I should be ok!0
