Work in progress. After years of lusting after one since they came out a few years ago I've wanted a Colnago Extreme Power in ST01 paint. I've been checking eBay and classifieds almost every day.
Finally. FINALLY! One came up. In my size. In my budget!
It came today and I'm SOOO happy.

Frame/fork/seatpost Colnago Extreme Power size 59
Group- Full Campagnolo Super Record Ti
Wheels- Wheelsmith built. IRD cadence road rims, extralight front/Campag record rear hubs. Cx ray spokes. Weigh just over 1400g not bad far a set built for a big guy!
Tyres- Veloflex Master with latex tubes
Stem is a 3T Arx Team, bars Deda zero 100. Undecided on stem, fancy a deda superleggero, and front end needs to be dialled in.
Also need to fit bottle cages.
Speedplay pedals.

Need to fit chain, cables, tape too.
I also have some Wheelsmith carbon tubs- 50mm gigantex rims, pmp hubs, cx ray spokes.

Photos don't do the metallic paint/bare carbon justice. As is usual with Colnago paint jobs.

  • That's fantastic. Classic geo looks so much nicer

Deda stem and seatpost would be a good choice

Nowt wrong with a Canyon AL!
    Get a thread started.
I have literally (and I mean literally) been looking for one of these used in this colour/size since 2007 at least once every other day! (it originally had a different, red, font and a splash of white)

It's absolutely superb. Please do a road test when it's properly up and running. Colnagos like this are so beautiful it makes you want to cry.!

    Cracking frame.
I just like the way that you couldn't wait to post it completed, kid in a candy shop.

Heh, I started putting the parts on as soon as I'd got it out of the box and inspected it. I would have ridden it too if it hadn't been for those meddling kids, err, missing bits.

I don't think there are many of your bikes you've shown us over the years I haven't liked, but this is just superb.

Classic lugged look, no top tube lateral laziness, carbon lightness, discreet wheels, decal decorum.

    "Dude!"

    That's a bike.
  • Great frame! and amazing colours. And I would go for a stem matching the bars. Don't like the 3T style with this frame. Looking forward to the finished bike.

Looks good, but its begging for some Campag Boras and a classic bend bar!

Been there with boras and classic bend bar, yeah, would look great!

But! Didn't particularly rate the BU2s for the money despite them looking stunning and whilst the classic bend looked good the RHM bar is far far more comfortable for me since my back broke.

Surely a Colnago is like owning a supercar.. who cares about how practical it is!?!?

I'll reserve my judgement until its built up fully though - bars might look better with tape on etc.

Nah, they won't look as good as the Deda Newton Shallows, which in a way breaks my heart but I want to ride the thing.
I found the BU2 flexy and the breaking poor. They weren't even particularly light for carbon tubs. The hubs were a thing of beauty though and they look cool. The Wheelsmith built tubs I have are much better wheels.

Nice bike, lovely colours and finish (though I'm sure it looks loads better to the naked eye).

EDIT: just looked again. Love it!
