So having used the Soft Strap Garmin and realising its pretty **** i wondered what Heart Rate Monitors people were using that are reliable and don't cost the earth?

Happy to spend £50 ish

Any wrist strap options out there worth considering?

If you are looking for a wristwatch-type HRM, then something like the Polar FT7 is worth a look. Depends what features you are after though...

yeah sorry, should have said..... needs ANT+ for connection to Garmin GPS and Trainerroad (via ANT+ usb stick)

+1 for the older Garmin one. It's all plastic, and works consistently well. Had mine for years.

A relatively common problem the above worked for me and as I recall the bare strap cost circa £12
