Best rollers for £250

With the weather on the change and nights drawing in I been thinking of asking Santa for rollers. I have a turbo and enjoy it but would like to give rollers a try just to break it up a bit. So what's the best one for around £250.

Can't recommend specific models but I would go for narrow diameter metal drum rollers rather than plastic. Metal ones are supposed to be quieter, and there's no static electricity buildup. And apparently smaller diameter = more resistance

I have also been considering a set of rollers up to this price point, a friend has just bought a set of sportcrafters from planetX.

Are these any good?

He is still getting to grips with them, so I dare not ask what he thinks of them!

I've got the Tacx Antares rollers, don't get those... they are not well constructed and eventually make really loud rattling noise (due to crap plastic housing for the bearings). Tried lots of different methods mentioned online to fix them, most last a few days and we are back to rattling again. Not sure if the Elite ones have the same problem... since they are plastic too...

Thanks for all the info I have had a good look at the Planet X ones and the kreitlers look very nice to. Any other opinions welcomed.

I've got a set of elite Arion With resistance (plastic ones) I'm very happy with them, but at certain speeds they do feel a little lumpy. More of a niggle than a problem, if I was going to get another set I would get the same model but with the metal rollers, I think the cheapest I have seen them for is £288. The only other thing is that you need to get off to change the resistance, never had to do it but it's something to be aware of.
The ones from Planet X look good, but I couldn't find any reviews on them. I have found I have ridden my rollers far more than I ever rode my previous 2 turbos I've had

Had the exact same problem with mine. Very disappointed with apparently a very reputable company. Their customer service was as useful as a chocolate tea-pot too.

CycleOps Alloy rollers, simple, no fuss and a lifetime warranty...

Sportcrafters make the cycleops ones, only difference is the colour and a different sticker. Planet X often has them on sale for about £150 so quite a bit cheaper too
