I get good months on the bike and then feel crap for a few days, stomach pains, poor toilet, muscle pain generally feeling crap. Lately I've been feeling crap for over 2 weeks. In these two weeks I had a good 4 hour spin, and a 20 mph avg speed spin!. I eventually went to the doctor last week, wee and bloods in order. This week I felt better Tue and did a light hour on the bike, felt ok Wed, today crap again? I've had a good summer, really pushed it, also I'm not working regular, so possibly have a good three days on the bike then rest. I thought it was stress, but yesterday had good news that I've had a job, stomach still crap. I'm very concerned and obviously y google and get scared......I just basically want to know if this is temporary and has anyone suffered in the same way? I'm 50.

Depends on a lot of things, are you pushing your fitness too much without enough rest? Poor diet?0

Go back to the doctor if you are worried.0

Do you get easily stressed about things? You been worrying about your employment situation?
Could be IBS. That can produce all kinds of symptoms you'd not normally associate with upset bowels.
I'm feeling crap at the moment but I know that's because I'm playing host to some kind of respiratory virus. Not good preparation for a sportive next weekend but hey ho, it's my first illness in about a year.0 -
I googled some illness symptoms I had once. It said I was dead.
Go to a medical professional.I'm sorry you don't believe in miracles0 -
An age thing it sounds to me mate.I turned the big five 0 this year and know how you feel.Have you been eating different foods or foods you don`t normally eat, anything that could upset the delicate balance of your innards?Cannondale CAAD 8 105

IBS , allergy, recurrent virus infection (should show up in bloods)? Or thyroid problem - are you losing weight without good explanation? Get back to the docs I would. Feeling unwell due to mental stress isnt unusual but it shouldn't just be waved away either.0

Basic things, hydration, eat enough protein?0

More than likely a combo of overtraining, with bad nutrition and stress leading to something like IBS. Solution would be address all three areas .. take a week or two off, eat better (and more if your training volume is high) and try and gain control of life issues. All the above is just advice .. you can do whatever the f*ck you wana do!

Go back to the doctor it could be a variety of the things. I had a bowel condition that produced exactly the same symptoms and it took me from being very fit to barely being able to get out of bed. Poor diet and stress made it worse. All fine now but until I recovered nothing had any real affect in easing it.0
