Found the other thread here. It's odd how it leaves a bit of the mech behind. At least it hasn't cracked your frame like it did his.0

A rear mech sheared off one of my bikes in the past and exactly the same - the rear mech snapped leaving a piece of itself attached to the hanger... I thought the whole point of removable/replaceable hangers was that they were supposed to snap rather than the mech and be cheaper to replace....!Do not write below this line. Office use only.0

until you realise the canal is in fact 2 ft deep and wade to the side and climb out
That reminds me of this - Rochdale canal a couple of weeks ago! It was in fact, 2 ft deep!

No idea! The following day it was all full up again. The only thing I can think of is that they may have wanted to do some work on one of the locks so emptied it out. I couldn't believe how shallow it was.Commute: Chadderton - Sportcity0 -
so the cost of this accident is:
new alpkit backpack
new rear mech
new chain
new mech hanger
taxi to work this morning
tube on monday
Not sure what state the wheel is in at the moment but that might be damaged, and i might get a new cassette as well if when i strip it down tonight the cassette looks damaged.
not forgetting the substantial damage to my body (pics are available of the bruising and road rash if you want)

thanks jimmypippa. i was refreshing their site every few hours to get one!
turns out the wheel needs a rebuild and ive noticed even more damage to my frame. jesus that chain has whipped and done some serious damage to it.
this is not normal damage from landing on a mech, think i might email madison.

The Open PRO are nice, but if you want to ride on the canal path, you need bigger tyres than those to avoid those tumbles... I use 32 mmleft the forum March 20230
