Last night riding home from work was riding along the canal with my mate. went to over take some pedestrians, went down onto the gravelly part, then attempted to come back onto the concrete. the kerb was a lot bigger than i expected and my wheel just went along the side of it instead of over it. this then meant i went flying, and not towards the canal itself, and not towards some nice soft bushes but straight at a bridge. i managed to shove my left hand out and kind of hand off the bridge, with the aid of my left hand, shoulder and hip. this then flipped me onto my right hand side and i slid along the concrete. rear mech is pretty scratched but no major damage done to my CAAD9 thankfully.
plus point, i didnt end up in the canal.
negative point, i didnt end up in the canal

Must be Fall, I had a minor last week, hit the back of an Astra and destroyed it's rear light cluster. Nasty bruise on my leg but no damage to the bike.
Hope you're OK and the pain fades quick. At least you didn't end up in the drink.I used to just ride my bike to work but now I find myself going out looking for bigger and bigger hills.0 -

Ouch! My shoulder is only just feeling better after getting knocked off in July. Hope you aren't too sore over the next few days.RIP commute...

That's your rear brake. Who uses their rear brake? Excuses being made I reckon. :PChunky Cyclists need your love too! :-)

Last season was silly, lets all try and keep it on the tarmac, trail, gravel, etc

Imagine if you'd gone into the canal clipped in, would you have been able to unclip before the bike pulled you under do you think?!Do not write below this line. Office use only.0

If he had went for carbon then it would have floated for a while before melting.None of the above should be taken seriously, and certainly not personally.0 -

I once fell off on the tow path along the Thames near Kingston, the river definitely would have been preferable as I cracked a rib. Completely my fault, it was 1am and I was riding the bike I'd promised to walk home as it only had one pedal. Foot slipped off the remaining pedal, got into a rather nasty wobble, I tried to keep it in a straight line and avoid going for a swim and went down like a sack of spuds. Carried on home and tried to act as if nothing had happened. Then went out for a continuation of nonsense the following day and wondered why I felt so much worse than a normal hangover.
Not big, not clever and I still get grief off the Mrs for that.0 -
I once fell off and trapped Little Mark between my handlebars and the frame.0

I'm pretty sure there's something wrong there....
ETA: Got it. I don't think you've lined the tyre logo up with the valve hole. Amateur.Sometimes parts break. Sometimes you crash. Sometimes it’s your fault.0 -
actually funnily enough davis, the other logo is lined up with the valve holeBMC TM01 - FCN 0

It's not supposed to that is it...
That'll teach you to take your dork disc off0 -
That doesn't look very good. There was a thread in one of the road forums where a bloke did that to a brand new bike, no impact beforehand. Di2 seemed to not break the hanger, but left part of the mech bolted on just like yours. Doesn't look like it was the lack of dork disc as it seems to be on a small cog.0

i'd anticipate its all to do with the impact from sunday. as i landed on the mechBMC TM01 - FCN 0
