    Pictures and stuff

Deserves a quality thread and Art's set suitably high standard with his opener.
I'm hoping for insight, pictures and laughs. Going to be difficult if not visible to most of us though.

oh yes I forgot about this for a few days. Purito needs 2nd or 1st and he will get the World Ranking like last year. ..also won at this race.

Think I'm going to try avoiding the thread and watch the ES highlights 'as live'

Hope the weather is better than last year....the coverage was poor

Why don't you just watch an online stream? There are plenty of good ones out there with decent quality.

    ^^This

Please not another race ruined by rain, too many of those this year.

Forecast is for a chance of rain, hopefully won't be anything heavy.

In reality this is the world championship, isn't it? Any one dayer, and even tour, is far more dependent on random factors, unholy alliances, and the parcours.

Edit - Who else is in contention?

Isn't there one more race after this that J Rod could enter if he needed to? Beijing springs to mind but not sure.

Yes, I think I read a quote from him somewhere saying he'd be prepared to do Beijing if he still needs the points by the time this one is over.

For an extreme emotion swing it would be good to see a J-Rod win. It would also be good to see an all-rounder win the overall rather than an albeit dominant stage race only winner.

I also really liked J-Rod speaking his mind about Valverde's performance in the World's final. Froome should take note. I think he's a pretty sharp and would be a good listen.

Yep. He said he would ride it if he didn't win the ranking today. Sounds like it would be a decent parcours this year with more good riders in attendance.

Purito is 80 points behind, with I believe 80 points for second today. If no more points were gained after today, how would ranking be decided? Purito attempted and gained points in a lot more events than Froome.

Surely if no more points are gained then the ranking stays as is?

I hope Costa doesnt wear the white shorts he was wearing last night. I also wonder what Purito will say to him when they meet.

Still nowhere near as bad as Rolland doing his Mr Blobby impression in the Tour... I'd post a photo to remind people but that'd just be cruel :P

Sagan dropped on the first climb (Valico di Valcava, after about 80 km) and dismounted, the first DNF.
    Kwiatkowski was a DNS.
  • Damn, Schleck can't even win the race to abandon.
    Andy dismounts.
