Dont think so.....just finished reading a book on Goose Green by mark Adkin which was excellent. I think he got himself in a position where all 3 forward companies were bogged down and he made a sort of death or glory charge from his HQ element in front of A company after being under pressure from his company commanders offering advice/help. His action highlighted positions on Darwin hill that were taken out almost after he went down and swung the impetus of the battle back to 2 Para. One sergeant was quoted as saying it was brave and leading from the front but wouldn't have passed muster when on junior Brecon. The plan for the attack was flawed from the start but perseverance and getting on with it is what (IMHO) the british Soldier does best.

I've always had the hots for Anne Widdecombe. She was minister for a while when I was BFI...I think she was about the only minister I have ever met who knew what she was talking about. She even came out with us on field ops one day and got stuck in. Plucky old bird...
