Anyone got any advice on the Decathlon range of turbos.?
The bikes are highly rated,i myself have a RR,but what of the turbos, any good or waste of money.I have a top budget of £150 and they sell them for a ton which is good for my wallet.

I use an Elite mag trainer same basic principle as the Stealth, have a root around on Google there might be some info or try on Wiggle reviews etc.0

Thanks DD.
I just had a quick look at this one at Halfords but BR give it a damning report. The price is good though at under a ton but should i go up a little, with Christmas fast approaching i don't want to go overboard on cost you see.

I have used this trainer and IMO it does not run rough and it is no more noisy than others of the same design, it was set up in the dining room at home.
Have a look at the customer reviews on Halfords, Wiggle, Evans etc they give are a more realistic view IMO, at the end of the day it's your choice.0 -

I think Halford's only publish the reviews they like - I did a positive review of a Boardman bike with only a couple of minor negatives and it didn't appear.0 -

Ok,without trawling through the site can you tell me why you think i should go for this model. At £150 it is quite a bit more than i wanted to pay but if it is worth the extra then fine, but please explain to me why. What makes a £150 model better than the £100 one.
I fully appreciate all your views so please forgive my ignorance on some points i do not understand.Cannondale CAAD 8 105

TBH Halfords are not my favourite store but I have seen negative comments on there. I honestly think that if you look at other places Wiggle etc and look at the reviews by people that own the items you will see good and bad reviews which I believe is a more balanced opinion than one magazine review.0 -
i just bought a Tacx santini pro from decathalon last night - £149 and it included front wheel stand and mat as well. Its really well built and feels great.0

sounds a bargain with the mat and stand

The basic Decathlon turbo doesn't offer a lot of resistance. However the Tacx Satori is currently on sale at 149 UKP (or 149 Euro if you are doing a booze cruise to Calais (check stock first mind) ).
http://www.decathlon.co.uk/satori-pro-h ... 64386.html
It can generate nearly a 1000 watts at 60kph, far more than I can push. I use it with
http://wattzap.com/
a VR/Power training application I developed.
The Satori is similar to the newer Blue Motion trainer. It is not listed on the Tacx website anymore. The 149 UKP deal with the mat etc is pretty good. The trainer works well, has a good hefty flywheel and you can get spares for the resistance lever etc. Don't bother with a "sweat thong", just drape a towel over the bike. Oh and buy a big fan.BASI Nordic Ski Instructor
