Big Maggie reckons it does.Correlation is not causation.0 -
Lots of people out. I know that car park well. It has pot holes you can drown in...http://www.georgesfoundation.org

I threw up in that car park once.Correlation is not causation.0 -
I take back my earlier comment, OK it still isn't a mountain but it gave them a chance to really race. Coming into the last 5km I thought it might be a damp squib but there were plenty of attacks even if they were all for the stage win and not putting any pressure on Wiggins. I thought Lopez might have been given permission to go for the stage when he dropped back 3km from the finish but stayed in the lead group. Nicely ridden by Yates, a stage win on a 'MTF' in that sort of company isn't bad! Thought Dan Martin was going to ride away but like a few others possibly under-estimated the hill and went too early.0
-
Yates certainly has some form for u23 Worlds. Well done lad.0
-
Same. The climb is too short to be able to grind away and whittle it all down, forces the riders into having to try and attack.0
-
I did the hill climb there last year. I came pretty close to throwing up as well. Almost got knocked off by a car earlier on in the climb, I was VERY average... Interesting what people are saying about underestimating the climb - the steeper stuff comes early on, but the end is really hard work, even if the gradient doesn't seem that horrible...http://www.georgesfoundation.org

Memories...
Simon Yates must be chuffed with that. Being able to say you beat Wiggins and Quintana on a race to the line is not a thing to be sniffed at.Correlation is not causation.0 -
Martin and Quintana both seemed to underestimate the climb. Nothing like the big climbs in the GTs but horribly steep in parts. Anyone else think some of the pros underestimate the hills in Britain?
Great win by Yates and a good interview with him on TV just now. Nice guy,0 -
Nice gesture by Cav in handing his bottle to someone in the crowd at the finish.Common sense in an uncommon degree is what the world calls wisdom0

Don't just show us Liam Holohan's cheese, tell us what it is!Correlation is not causation.0

Whatever. It was far better than anything seen in the last few weeks in America. (either United States or Canada)Organiser, National Championship 50 mile Time Trial 19720 -

I think I saw dean downing crawling in.
Handley did well"If I was a 38 year old man, I definitely wouldn't be riding a bright yellow bike with Hello Kitty disc wheels, put it that way. What we're witnessing here is the world's most high profile mid-life crisis" Afx237vi Mon Jul 20, 2009 2:43 pm0 -

Two stages left, both look bunch sprinty, so perhaps he'll stay on the podium.0 -

Quite close though. Have to watch out for bunch splits in the sprint (and before that as well obviously)0 -

Great win by Yates and a good interview with him on TV just now. Nice guy,
They possibly under-estimate them in thinking they can attack from the bottom, I think they may expect something more like a Flandrian Berg but they are a bit more like Ardennes style climbs. I seem to remember one of the pros last year being a bit surprised by the Devon stage as there were so many uncategorised lumps at the end.0
