The problem is, you need a mac to do most of the cpu intensive work.
If a normal laptop could do the work a mac did we would be cooking on gas but as it is were cooking on twigs and leaves.

I cant believe im saying it but im getting sick of ilife.
    Pedant alert.

You'll cook much quicker on twigs than gas. I know this from my boy scout days.

Come round my place, you collect as many twigs as you like and I guarantee that ill be eating my warm beans on toast way faster than you on your sticks :)
I learnt that from my cold, wet, exhausting days in the scouts
(although, I really did have wonderful times back them)

I'd be surprised if Mrs Vtech isn't cooking on Induction?

iOS7 looks like it was given its graphical makeover by Fisher Price !!!!
Still thinking of something clever to say!

5 iPhones in our household and 3 iPads, all effortless with the updates, but it does irritate me that each handset has to download 645mb

The speed improvement on my iPhone 5 is really quite good, probably because they have reduced the overhead of the graphics etc.

I have to admit that Apple have always been renowned for beautiful system and the iOS7 has been hit with the ugly stick, I group all my apps into groups on one page only and they really do look terrible.

Can't see any benefit in going for the 5s, AFAIK the camera is the same, and just small tweaks to the rest.

Overall even allowing for the ugly icons it gets my thumbs up.

All I will say is Widgets, No I have not lost my ability to communicate but at the end of the day the powers that be at Apple HQ need to accept the fact that whilst a load of icons on a touchscreen was innovative back in the day its just not cricket anymore. Having switched from iPhone to Android a while ago it just seems natural to hit unlock my Android phone and instantly see a collection of home screen widgets showing me everything I am interested in like weather / Facebook feeds / News Headlines etc. It seems a little old hat to have to scrawl through a load of apps on iOS to get the same information. iOS 7 is basically the same albeit with simpler (read kid like) visuals. Going forward Apple need to come out with some innovation like they did back in 2007. Meet the new iPhone same as the old.

By the way, I can't be the only one on here that thinks that the new Settings icon looks like a compact chain ring.

Yes; actually I was thinking a triple.

Caved in and installed it yesterday.I'm getting used to it.
Has anyone else noticed that the clock actually works on the app icon now?
  • I hadn't, well spotted! :)
  • I have to say that it is growing on me.
One thing which disappoints me however is the itunes radio. I was quite excited about that addition. Until discovering that it is only available in the USA. Bummer!
