What's very telling about Sven's bike is that given the choice of canti vs disc he went for discs for Baal: http://www.sporza.be/cm/sporza/videozon ... menvatting

But it was a fast course and not muddy. On a fast course with sharp braking they'd be pretty useful.

The green front-white rear looks better than the all green above to me.

Probably the worst looking kit in the peloton:

Anton looks a lot different to the idea I had of him.

Those wheels dont look very strong. Wouldnt want to ride over any cracks in the road surface with those.

Grown men in lycra is bad enough. Grown men in lycra pulling stupid poses is a million times worse.

Those are Mad Fibre wheels. They are pretty dam strong. I doubt you could break them on the road.

Bad news is the company just went belly up. I would imagine the price of the MF's still out there will come down as I don't see them being covered by warranty any more. Could be worth the risk if you like the style and want a pair of wheels that would normally set you back well over 2 grand. Maybe if worst happened and they did break someone like Stephen at Fibre Lyte or Berk/Jure could repair them.

My mistake. Good Call Crozza. It was the de- stickered look that got me.

They do look a lot better de-stickered.

Check out the Mad Fibres in the link . Insane weight

They look like old spinnergys. They used to break just riding along the road!

Not keen on the Sky kit as it's not very visible on the road. A lot of amateur riders like to wear black and this Kit is the same kind of thing. Trouble is you get 13 year old out on the road with this kit and these riders need to be seen.
When making up our Club kit many years ago, the visibility was a big factor.

Very true. Ninja style kit on the road doesn't make sense to me either. And how can I hunt down all these Mamils if I can't see them !

Have to say, I ride in prime Rapha territory (Surrey), and I see Sky replica kit on about 1 in 40, maybe 50 riders on an average weekend ride. I mean, far from me to suggest that there's any exaggeration going on re the effect of Sky's Rapha deal on Mamils, but...

I think its more noticeable in the summer. Not many people can afford the Sky winter jackets.

I'm talking summer or winter - anyone would think the roads are all full of roaming Sky Rapha-clads on Pinas, the way some go on :?

I'm next door in Berkshire & it's the same here, rarely do i see Sky shirts on riders, even in MamiRapha Windsor.

I really like the Swiss BMC jersey.

Also is it acceptable for Costa to be wearing white shorts, so we avoid some weird lampre shorts effort.

I've only ever seen 2 - on a club ride. Husband and wife and to be fair I think she worked for Sky and there was some promo where they got the gear for a charity ride - and it was pre-Rapha.
I'm left handed, if that matters.

There's a guy round here who rides around in head-to-toe Team Sky kit. He's even got a Pinarello (think its a KOBH) in full team colours

OK so he's the Team Physio, but still....

:D Maybe they're all bona fide Sky team members we're seeing around the place

It's a hard call, minging white shorts or minging Lampre shorts. Should have gone with the black shorts, much more classy.

Sounds like Sky Velo the company's own cycling club. They do personalised kit for things like L2P and the Grandfondo Pinarello.

Ah I wondered if he was, and he is... Is he a sprinter like his Dad? Quite a tough act to follow, green Jersey 6 tours in a row.

The Lampre kit is much nicer than last year, and I like Costas bike.
  • Paul, Rick Zabel's a very good sprinter and also strong over classics terrain. Won U23 Tour of Flanders this year.
